We are looking for someone to join our Tokyo based IT support team in a full-time, entry level position.
The work consists of Office IT support, break/fix support and includes being part of an on-call rotation for 4-hour SLA break/fix support.
Office IT support consists of assisting customers either in their office, over the phone or through remote support desktop software. Support includes everything from setting up email and Internet to installing new systems and data migration. It also consists of remote weekly server and backup checks and system administration on Windows Servers.
Break/Fix support consists of following an action plan and going to data centres, factories or offices to replace failing hardware according to an action plan that is provided. Basic field engineer procedures are followed in order to successfully replace hardware. We support customers on a 24x7x4 hour basis in Osaka and Tokyo and Next Business Day (NBD) throughout the rest of Japan.
There is also regular project work which varies greatly from VoIP phone installations to racking equipment in data centres.
The On Call system is in rotation with other field engineers to provide 4 hour SLA support outside of business hours. When on call you need to be within an hour of our warehouse/office and be able to go on-site within 4 hours of being dispatched.
The ideal candidate would have the following:
- An interest in computer hardware and a mechanical aptitude
- A wide range of interests
- Good people skills
- Experience working in a team environment with multiple nationalities
- Customer focused service work ethic
- A high level of Japanese ability (speaking, reading, writing)
- An intermediate to high level of English ability (speaking, reading, writing)
- A valid Japanese drivers license
